CORE GROUP TRAINING
Every football player's most strong and balanced area must be the core area.
Core muscles: These muscles are examined in two parts as local and global. Local muscles have more connection to lumbar spine whereas global muscles have connection to hip and pelvis area. These muscles transfer strength between rib cage and pelvis.The coordination and contraction between these muscles are very important.
Core muscles play role in all movements including dynamic and static .
Strenghtening core area must begin at early ages. This will decrease sportive injuries and increases practice of technical skills. Core exercises may begin from age 10.
If core area is strong; strength transfer from upper muscle groups to lower muscle groups will be more effective. It will strenghten and reinforce postural muscles.
Back and waist muscles located in core area are responsible from body rotation, spinal extension and flexion. The weakness of this area in children, causes weakness and pain. These muscles have to strenghtened by using isometric and isotonic contraction.
Several movements are performed mobile and on one foot in football (pass, shot, jump, run…). Therefore strong core muscles such as hip and posture muscles, will provide advantage to your player.
